Connor and Jay got married on May 14, 2022 and hosted all of their wedding festivities at The Barn at Broadslab in Benson, NC. They knew their wedding would be the first time in a while that a majority of their extended family and friends would be together. For that reason, they wanted to create an intimate experience with a focus on comfort and spending quality time with one another. The Barn at Broadslab, with its charming country setting and luxurious amenities, made the perfect venue. The Barn at Broadslab is a wooded venue with acres of scenic country property in the town of Benson. It ended up being a fantastic choice.
Forget Me Knot's coordinator, Delany May, helped the couple coordinate the ceremony and reception. The bride wore a satin, a-line white dress. She also chose a pair of delicate diamond earrings. The groom’s suit shined in navy with a coordinating coral bow tie.
The couple blended their families for their outdoor ceremony in the field at the Barn at Broadslab. Connor and Jay incorporated details of both of their families and traditions. The newlyweds performed a sand ceremony to signify the blending of two hearts becoming one.
The Barn at Broadslab was the couples’ one-stop shop for the entire wedding. They hosted their ceremony and reception there. The unique and quiet wedding venue made the entire wedding seamless.
The wedding was intimate and family-oriented. Jay’s father, Jim, was the best man. Connor's sister served as her maid of honor. The ring bearer was Connor's young nephew. The couple took care to incorporate their North Carolina roots into the food and theme.
As a wedding favor, the couple gave the guests custom cookies as a nod to the sweet vibe of the weekend. Congratulations Connor and Jay!
