Kimberly & Mike's Maiden Wedding

Nine years after they started dating, Kimberly and Mike said "I do" at The Providence Cotton Mill, Maiden's charming wedding venue. Kimberly met Mike while at a birthday party when they were both undergraduates at UNC. Their relationship soon grew into something more and after two years of long-distance dating, the couple moved in together in Chapel Hill and got a dog named Ellie.

Mike proposed during his birthday celebration that turned into a surprise engagement party in March 2022. While Kimberly was completely surprised, the couple had been dreaming about their wedding and talking about getting engaged for years - the timing was unexpected, and Kimberly was thrilled to have their closest friends and family present!

They both loved the architecture of the detailed building and wanted the feel of an airy wedding. They found the perfect fit with Providence Cotton Mill, a venue dating back to the 1800s that has 30ft high ceilings and open windows.

On their June wedding day, warm weather allowed the couple to celebrate with beautiful sunshine. Photographer Hannah Wagner Photography and videographers ASKEM Studios captured emotional moments and delicate details. They went above and beyond at every turn and made them feel amazing throughout the entire process.

The couple prioritized vendors who were familiar with Providence Cotton Mill while choosing the rest of their team. Kimberly's hair and makeup was perfected by Simply Curled by Kaitlyn and Shelby Bell MUA. Kimberly decorated her half-up half-down hairdo with a long veil.

Family and friends were central to the big day. Mike's groomsmen, Tyree, officiated the wedding. One of our favorite wedding moments was listening to the speeches made by members of their wedding party.

Kimberly and Mike chose a blush color scheme that was not without personal touches. A cake was adorned with flowers in hues of white, rose, and light pink.

A Retro Booths CLT rental entertained guests and captured memories to be enjoyed for years to come. Retro Booths included fun props for guests to pose with.

To those planning wedding of their own, don't get too hung up on tradition. Do what makes you happy.
