Kayleigh and Cole - Pure Joy

Updated: Nov 7, 2019

From start to finish, the one thing that best represented Kayleigh and Cole’s wedding was joy. From the moment I started planning with Kayleigh and her mother over coffee at Jubala Coffee to the last minute of the wedding, I never saw the bride or her mother squabble over details. The two loved planning the wedding together, and on the day of the wedding, Kayleigh never stopped beaming at her groom and smiling at her guests. It was a joyful celebration for all!

Kayleigh and Cole got married at Kenan Chapel in Wilmington on September 16. Though Kenan Chapel has a traditional vibe, with its stain glass windows and a classic organ, Kayleigh wanted the space to have a more romantic feel. They were able to accomplish this with the help of cream and blush florals from Verzaal's Florist & Events, soft candles, white linens, and hanging twinkle lights.

Kayleigh walked down the aisle in a gorgeous lace gown with an illusion neckline and a skirt made of layers of lace fabric. She wore her hair up in a low bun, and donned a long veil at the back of her head. Kayleigh carried a bouquet of cream and blush florals with pops of greenery. Her bridesmaids wore strapless, mauve dresses with a sweetheart neck line and a rousched bodice. Cole wore a black suit with a bowtie to match, and his groomsmen sported black suits with navy blue bowties – they all wore black shoes and a simple, floral boutonniere.

The reception centerpieces were used to tie together the theme for the day. Greenery, floating candles, and other little details were sprinkled throughout the reception to create the look of a garden wedding. Flowers spilled out along the length of the table and acted as runners. A picture book was created to invite guests to write their own wishes for their happy marriage.

Guests popped over to the Hanover Seaside Club to enjoy appetizers before the start of the reception. They were served a delicious menu catered by the Hanover Seaside Club Catering, followed by cake provided by Apple Annie's bakery. The wedding cake was a simple, three-tier creation with barely there frosting and decoration that included a couple of fresh blooms and a wedding topper.

DJ by the Sea kept the guests dancing the night away. Guests even sang along to their favorite hits! Kayleigh and Cole didn’t leave the dance floor for most of the night. It was truly a night to remember for everyone, and Morgan Caddell Photography was there to capture it all.
