Diana + Michael at Barclay Villa

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

On a stunning December day, Diana and Michael said their "I do's" while surrounded by family and friends at the Roman Orthodox Church in Durham, NC.

Diana’s fairytale day began inside her mother and father's home. She was able to enjoy a comfortable morning in a familiar surrounding while having her hair and makeup done. With the help of her mom, Diana stepped into a beautiful satin toule gown with a sparkly, off-the-shoulder top and a gorgeous pair of embellished heels.

The timeless architecture exudes a romantic, classic feel. Both the ceremony and reception were decorated with soft, neutral undertones with hints of gold throughout. Natural greenery was added to complement the soft blooms. Diana and Michael’s intimate ceremony couldn’t have been framed in a more beautiful setting.

Guests drove over to the Barclay Villa’s elegant ballroom for the reception. One long table was dressed in gold linens and topped with a mix of lush greenery and soft blooms, while smaller round tables featured floral centerpieces with neutral undertones accompanied by tall glass vases.

The floral theme was further exemplified by the cake, a four-tiered creation with a floral design and pearl trim on all tiers. White flowers were placed on each layer like a cascade, leading to a golden monogram on the very top layer. An illustration of the cake and golden sprouts complemented the display. White lights decorated the railings, and intricate displays of blooms and greenery similar to the bride’s bouquet accented the light of the sconces. The look was a mix of classic and modern aesthetics that blended together perfectly.

When the evening came to a close, Michael and Diana made their way outside to a limousine, where they embraced before their departure as newlyweds. Their wedding was just the start of the next chapter in their long love story.
